Room is the Jetpack persistence library over SQLite: annotated entities and DAOs with compile-time SQL checking, migrations, and Flow/LiveData/RxJava observable queries. Since Room 2.7 it also supports Kotlin Multiplatform (Android, iOS, JVM). Added via Gradle with KSP. The database is an ordinary SQLite file, so any SQLite tool can open a copy pulled off a device.
