React Native on a Mac

Native iOS and Android apps written in React (JavaScript/TypeScript) · Mobile App Development

React Native renders real native views from React components, with the New Architecture (Fabric, TurboModules, the Hermes engine) on by default. The React Native team recommends starting with a framework such as Expo (npx create-expo-app); bare projects use the React Native Community CLI through npx, so there is nothing to install globally beyond Node.js (Runtimes), Watchman, Xcode and Android Studio/Gradle. The Metro bundler serves JavaScript to the app during development on port 8081.
