Realm (Atlas Device SDK) on a Mac

On-device object database; MongoDB ended Device Sync and SDK support in 2025 · Mobile App Development

Realm is an object database embedded in mobile apps (Swift, Kotlin, Java, Flutter, React Native, .NET, C++). MongoDB deprecated the Atlas Device SDKs and Device Sync in September 2024 and ended support on 30 September 2025, so Sync-backed apps must move to another sync layer (for example Firebase, Supabase, PowerSync or Couchbase Lite). The local database continues as community-maintained open source with the Sync code removed. Keep it for existing offline-only apps; prefer Room, SwiftData/Core Data or SQLite for new work.
