HomePod on a Mac

Apple smart speaker & Home hub (AirPlay 2 / Matter / Thread) · IoT

HomePod and HomePod mini are Apple's Siri smart speakers that double as the always-on Home hub for HomeKit — enabling remote access, automations and HomeKit Secure Video — and act as a Thread border router and Matter controller for local accessories. There's no third-party API: control playback by AirPlay 2, run Home scenes/accessories via the Shortcuts bridge (see the Apple Home pane), and set it up in the Home app. From this Mac you can AirPlay audio to it and target it with Home actions. Pairs with Apple Home, the Matter/Zigbee bridges and Power Control here.
