Fibre Channel is a dedicated SAN fabric (2/4/8/16/32G) using HBAs (QLogic/Emulex/Marvell) and FC switches (Brocade/Cisco MDS); addressed by WWN, no IP. Monitor on Linux: HBA port state under /sys/class/fc_host/host*/port_state and …/speed, systool -c fc_host -v, lsscsi -H, vendor fcstat/systool -c fc_remote_ports; multipath with multipath -ll. Switches expose health over SNMP/REST (Brocade SANnav, Cisco MDS NX-API). macOS reaches FC only via Thunderbolt-FC adapters (ATTO Celerity). No IP port to probe; track HBA link state + multipath over SSH (AI Harness).
