Azure Local (formerly Azure Stack HCI) runs Azure services on your own validated hardware, with clusters registered into an Azure subscription. It exposes no local monitoring API: unlike every other platform in this category there is no on-box REST endpoint to query from the LAN, and Microsoft directs monitoring through Azure Monitor / Insights and the Azure Resource Manager. FrontierStack therefore reads cluster state from ARM; GET https://management.azure.com/subscriptions/{sub}/resourceGroups/{rg}/providers/Microsoft.AzureStackHCI/clusters/{name}?api-version=2024-04-01 with an Azure AD bearer token; returning properties.status, properties.connectivityStatus, reportedProperties.clusterName, clusterVersion and a nodes[] array. Because the reading comes from the cloud rather than the cluster, a box that has lost its Azure connection reports stale data: check connectivityStatus and reportedProperties.lastUpdated together, or a disconnected cluster looks healthy.
