How do I run Envoy Proxy on a Mac?
Envoy is the CNCF edge and service proxy behind Istio, Consul Connect, Kuma and most API gateways; HTTP/1.1, HTTP/2, HTTP/3 and gRPC, load balancing with health checks, retries and circuit breaking, TLS termination and rich stats. Configuration is a static YAML file (envoy -c envoy.yaml) or dynamic xDS from a control plane. brew install envoy; the admin interface (stats, clusters, config dump) is conventionally on :9901; keep it bound to 127.0.0.1. For Kubernetes ingress use Envoy Gateway under Service Mesh.
