tinc is a long-standing open-source mesh VPN; peers auto-route around each other to form a self-healing private network, even across NAT. Install with Homebrew (tinc); define a network under etc/tinc, exchange host public keys, and run tincd. Mature and lightweight, if more manual than the modern WireGuard meshes.
