PocketBase on a Mac

Open-source backend in one file (SQLite + auth + realtime) · Databases

PocketBase is a whole backend in a single Go binary — an embedded SQLite database with an auto-generated REST API, realtime subscriptions (SSE), built-in user auth (email/OAuth), file storage, and an admin dashboard, with no external dependencies. A lightweight self-hosted Firebase/Supabase alternative for small-to-mid apps. Download the binary and run pocketbase serve — the API and the admin UI (at /_/) come up on :8090; the data lives in a pb_data/ folder you can back up as files. Extend it in Go or with JavaScript hooks. Back up its SQLite via the Database Health pane.
