n2n (ntop) is a peer-to-peer layer-2 VPN; edge nodes join a community and punch through NAT with help from a supernode, forming an encrypted virtual LAN. Install with Homebrew (n2n); run a supernode on a reachable host and edges everywhere else. Tiny and great for ad-hoc LAN-over-internet.
