Minisforum NAS on a Mac

Minisforum N5 / N5 Air / N5 Pro / N5 Max NAS hardware (MinisCloud OS, TrueNAS, Unraid, Proxmox) · Storage & NAS

Minisforum's N5 series are five-bay AMD Ryzen NAS boxes with extra M.2 NVMe slots and 5/10 GbE networking: the N5, the N5 Air, the N5 Pro (Ryzen AI 9 HX PRO 370, ECC memory) and the N5 Max. The N5, N5 Air and N5 Pro can ship with MinisCloud OS, Minisforum's NAS operating system built on fnOS; the N5 Max lists Windows 11 and Linux. Many owners install TrueNAS, Unraid, Proxmox or OpenMediaVault instead. FrontierStack monitors whatever OS is installed: Device Discovery recognises the N5 line and MinisCloud OS by name, and an installed NAS OS takes priority when it is detected. Link a Linux-based install with Link a Server (SSH) for host health, disk/SMART and RAID status, detected services, Docker containers, log reading, the Service Watchdog and Alerts. Early MinisCloud OS releases had no SSH, so until yours does, FrontierStack watches the box's reachability only. Minisforum has not published a MinisCloud OS API, so FrontierStack does not contact one.
