Elasticsearch on a Mac

Search & analytics engine (Elastic) · Search

Elasticsearch is the original distributed search and analytics engine behind the ELK stack. Since 2021 it's source-available (Elastic Licence 2.0 / SSPL) — free to self-host but no longer OSI open source, so Homebrew installs it from Elastic's tap (elastic/tap/elasticsearch-full). The Apache-2.0 fork OpenSearch is a drop-in open alternative.

Run Elasticsearch with FrontierStack

FrontierStack lists Elasticsearch in its Search catalog. Install or connect it from one place, then monitor its status, ports and certificate, secure it with the firewall and Malware Audit, and back it up.

Run it all from one Mac app.

FrontierStack installs, monitors and secures the whole stack — locally and across your fleet — from a single native macOS app.
