Backstage on a Mac
Spotify's open-source developer portal framework (self-hosted) · Internal Developer Portals
Backstage (Spotify, CNCF) is the open-source framework for building an Internal Developer Portal — a software catalogue of all your services with ownership, TechDocs, the Scaffolder (software templates) and a plugin ecosystem (Kubernetes, CI/CD, cost, security). Self-host with Node: npx @backstage/create-app, then run the app (frontend :3000, backend :7007); back it with PostgreSQL for production. catalog-info.yaml files describe each component, system and team.
Run Backstage with FrontierStack
FrontierStack lists Backstage in its Internal Developer Portals catalog. Install or connect it from one place, then monitor its status, ports and certificate, secure it with the firewall and Malware Audit, and back it up.
Run it all from one Mac app.
FrontierStack installs, monitors and secures the whole stack — locally and across your fleet — from a single native macOS app.
