Each Kakao Developers app has platform keys (REST API, JavaScript, Native app) and Admin keys under [App] > [Platform Keys]/[Admin Keys]. Up to 5 keys per type are allowed, with per-key IP allow-lists. REST API keys now have client secret enabled by default. Since 2024-12-01, new apps must switch on [Kakao Map] usage before calling the Local API, or it returns 'disabled OPEN_MAP_AND_LOCAL service'. Admin keys allow user-management calls and must never ship in clients. KeyRotate stores the app's REST API key and checks it against the Local API.
