Zeroconf / Bonjour on a Mac

Zero-configuration service discovery (mDNS/DNS-SD) · Networking

Zeroconf (Apple Bonjour / mDNS + DNS-SD) lets devices and services advertise and find each other on a LAN with no config — printers, cameras, Cast/AirPlay, NAS shares, and more. It's built into macOS (mDNSResponder), and this app's Device Discovery already browses it (the mDNS/Bonjour scan method). Explore it from Terminal with dns-sd -B _services._dns-sd._udp to list every advertised service type, or dns-sd -B _http._tcp for a specific one. On Linux the equivalent is Avahi.
