SRT carries broadcast-grade live video across the public internet with encryption and packet recovery — the contribution protocol between OBS/vMix/encoders and servers like MediaMTX, SRS or Wowza. brew install srt gives srt-live-transmit for relaying/testing (e.g. srt-live-transmit srt://:9710 udp://127.0.0.1:5000). SRT rides UDP, commonly :9710/:10080.
