A self-hosted attendance system built around RFID/NFC tap cards (or QR badges): students tap a card on a reader at the door and a web backend records the timestamp, builds registers and pushes to your SIS. There's no single vendor; it's a pattern you assemble from an RFID/NFC reader (e.g. an ACR122U USB reader, a PN532 module, or an ESP32/Raspberry Pi with an RC522) plus an open-source backend. Run the backend on this Mac or a linked server (a small web app + database), expose it on your LAN, and reverse-proxy it. Many open-source projects on GitHub implement the reader→web→database flow; pick one that matches your reader and SIS. Pairs with the Moodle attendance plugin or your SIS's attendance import.
