Open OSCAR Server (formerly Retro AIM Server) is a self-hostable instant-messaging server written in Go that speaks AOL's OSCAR protocol — so classic AIM (Windows clients 1.x–7.x) and ICQ (2001x–ICQ 5) apps can sign on and chat again. Instant messages, chat rooms, buddy lists, file sharing, user profiles + directory search, privacy settings, cross-protocol AIM↔ICQ messaging, and full TOC2 (vAIM, Miranda, iEM, BlueTOC). Grab a release or go build, then point vintage clients at your host on port 5190. MIT-licensed; independent, not affiliated with or endorsed by AOL.
