GitLab Runner on a Mac

GitLab Runner picks up and runs GitLab CI/CD jobs on your own infrastructure, with executors for shell, Docker, VirtualBox/Parallels and more; and macOS is a supported runner host, so this Mac can build and test your pipelines (the usual reason: signing iOS/macOS apps). It works against GitLab.com, GitLab Dedicated and self-managed instances alike. Install with Homebrew (brew install gitlab-runner). Registration changed: create the runner first in GitLab (Settings ▸ CI/CD ▸ Runners, at instance, group or project level), which issues an authentication token starting glrt-, then run gitlab-runner register --url https://gitlab.com/ --token glrt-…. The old registration tokens are deprecated and scheduled for removal in GitLab 20.0. Then run it as a service (gitlab-runner install && gitlab-runner start, or brew services). Pairs with the GitLab CI/CD entry; the runner process shows up in the Build & Render Farm monitor.
