Use Dropbox as an encrypted off-site backup destination (restic / rclone) · Backup

Back up to Dropbox as an off-site target. Two good paths: (1) restic with the rclone backend; restic -r rclone:dropbox:backups init then restic backup ~/Sites for encrypted, deduplicated, versioned snapshots; (2) rclone directly; rclone config a dropbox remote (OAuth), then rclone sync dropbox:backups (add crypt for client-side encryption). Schedule it from the Scripts & Cron pane and watch it in Backups. Needs the Dropbox app authorization or an API token (kept in Keychain).
