How do I run Active Directory on a Mac?

Active Directory Domain Services is Microsoft's on-premises directory: domain controllers that run LDAP, Kerberos, DNS and Group Policy for Windows networks. FrontierStack watches every DC without an agent. It finds them in DNS and checks their ports, sync state, clock difference (Kerberos breaks beyond 5 minutes) and LDAPS certificate expiry. With a plain domain user it also reads each DC's inbound replication and counts locked-out accounts, over LDAPS or StartTLS only. Import AD users in the Accounts pane; for the cloud directory see Microsoft Entra ID.

With FrontierStack you can install or connectActive Directory from its Identity & Accounts catalog, then monitor its health, ports and certificate alongside the rest of your stack.

Run it from your Mac.

FrontierStack installs, monitors and secures services on this Mac and on linked servers; and keeps your passwords and keys out of any AI's sight.
