Consul provides service discovery, a KV store and the Connect service mesh — sidecar (Envoy) mTLS and intentions-based authorization across services, on Kubernetes, Nomad or VMs. Install with the HashiCorp tap (brew install hashicorp/tap/consul); consul agent runs it, with the HTTP API + UI on :8500. Pairs with Nomad and Vault here.
