AWS CloudFormation provisions AWS resources from declarative JSON/YAML templates as managed stacks — change sets, drift detection, nested stacks and StackSets for multi-account/region rollouts. Deploy via the AWS Console or aws cloudformation deploy (AWS CLI). The native, no-extra-tooling IaC for AWS; CDK (below) generates CloudFormation under the hood.
