Tailscale builds a secure WireGuard-based mesh network between your devices, so you can reach this Mac's services privately from anywhere without opening ports. This entry installs the Tailscale client on this Mac — two variants (they conflict, pick one): the CLI/daemon formula runs headless via brew services, or the desktop app cask (tailscale-app) is the mainstream menu-bar client. Once it's connected, Tailnet Devices in this pane lists every device on your tailnet (from this Mac's own tailscale status — no API token needed) and finds each one's LAN (Wi-Fi/Ethernet) address (via a direct Tailscale connection, tailscale ping, the Tailscale API or Bonjour). Macs and servers get Add to Servers, everything else Pin; a device on this Mac's network is added at its LAN address and is still watched over its tailnet address when you're away. Devices already pinned, or already in your servers, are marked and open with a click, and earlier tailnet-address pins move to their LAN address once it's found. To manage your whole tailnet, or to set up and control Tailscale on a linked server, use the Tailnet pane and each server's Headless Tailscale section (the AI can also run it via setup_tailscale) — that's where the on-server work lives, not here.
