Ubiquiti Cloud Gateway / Dream Machine + Network controller · Routers & Firewalls
Ubiquiti UniFi runs routing, firewalling, switching and Wi-Fi from one console \u{2014} a Dream Machine (UDM/UDM Pro/UDM SE), a Cloud Gateway (UCG-Ultra/Max/Fiber, UXG), a Cloud Key, or a self-hosted controller. The UniFi pane speaks both of Ubiquiti's APIs, because they answer different questions. The Site Manager cloud API (one key from unifi.ui.com) lists every console on your account with its model, firmware and online state \u{2014} the only way to notice a remote site losing power or internet when you aren't on its LAN. A local console API key then unlocks what the gateway is actually doing: WAN links with ISP, latency and throughput (including which one is carrying traffic, so you learn you're on the metered backup before the bill does), adopted devices and their firmware, firewall rules in evaluation order, port forwards \u{2014} with any that accept connections from any source address flagged \u{2014} and the client list. Alerts cover a console going offline, a WAN link dropping, failover to the backup link, a device off the network, and internet-exposed port forwards. Read-only: rule and network edits stay in the UniFi console. Web UI on :443; PoE switch ports are controlled from the Power over Ethernet pane.
