Shelly plugs, relays and sensors: online state and offline alerts via the Shelly Cloud · IoT
Shelly makes Wi-Fi plugs, relays, power meters and sensors. On your own network they are best driven locally from Power Control, which can switch them, power-cycle a linked server and alert when an outlet stops answering. Shelly Cloud covers the devices this Mac can't reach directly — a plug at another site, or a laptop away from home: FrontierStack reads each device's cloud online state through Shelly's official Cloud Control API and, for the devices you mark with the bell, raises an offline alert through Alerts (contacts and escalation presets apply). Setup. In the Shelly app open User settings ▸ Authorization cloud key. Copy the key and the server address shown with it (for example https://shelly-XX-eu.shelly.cloud) into this pane; the key stays in the Keychain and is only ever sent to that Shelly Cloud server. The API has no documented way to list an account's devices, so add each device by its device ID (the device's Settings ▸ Device information). Limits. Shelly allows one API call per second and up to 10 devices per call, so FrontierStack batches devices and checks every 5 minutes. If the cloud can't be reached or refuses the key, devices are shown as unknown — never as offline. When the same Shelly is also a Power Control outlet with its unreachable alert on, the local check is used while this Mac is on that network.
