Meshtastic is an open-source, long-range LoRa mesh for text messaging and GPS location with no cellular/Wi-Fi — running on inexpensive ESP32/nRF52 LoRa boards. Install the Python CLI (pip install meshtastic) to configure and talk to nodes over USB/serial, BLE or TCP (meshtastic --info); use the phone/desktop apps for day-to-day chat.
