Lima launches Linux VMs on macOS with automatic file sharing and port forwarding — the "container machines" that back container runtimes (it powers Colima and Rancher Desktop). limactl start boots a VM; containerd/nerdctl or Docker run inside. FrontierStack's Containers pane lists Lima machines with start/stop/shell.
