A self-hosted runner executes GitHub Actions workflow jobs on your own machine — useful for macOS/Apple-silicon builds, special hardware, or private networks. Add it from your repo/org Settings ▸ Actions ▸ Runners (download the runner, ./config.sh with the registration token, then ./run.sh). Manage it as a launchd service with svc.sh.
