KICC (한국정보통신) runs the EasyPay PG and a VAN business. A test MID and Secret Key can be issued instantly through the EasyPay merchant admin (sandbox page on docs.kicc.co.kr); live MIDs require a contract. The secret key is used only to compute HMAC message-authentication values (msgAuthValue) on approval/cancel requests. In a live probe, the transaction-status API (retrieveTransaction) needed only mallId and no secret, and the docs say msgAuthValue is not provided there. Dev host testpgapi.easypay.co.kr, prod pgapi.easypay.co.kr. Why no verify request: Impractical for the secret: the only read-only API (retrieveTransaction) does not use the secret key. It can confirm the mallId exists: POST https://pgapi.easypay.co.kr/api/trades/retrieveTransaction {mallId, shopTransactionId:'nonexistent', transactionDate:'yyyyMMdd'} returned {"resCd":"R202","resMsg":"등록된 거래가 없습니다"} on the test host. Checking the secret would require a signed cancel call, which has side effects.
