Temporal runs durable, fault-tolerant workflows as code — automatically retrying and resuming long-running, stateful processes across failures. Self-host the server (brew install temporal for the dev server, or Docker for production); gRPC frontend on :7233 and a Web UI on :8233/:8080. SDKs (Go/Java/TS/Python) and an API let other services start and signal workflows.
