Khoj is an open-source, self-hostable AI assistant that indexes your own material — Markdown/Org notes (Obsidian and Logseq vaults included), PDFs, GitHub repos, Notion — and answers questions against it, with optional web search and scheduled research agents. Run it with pip (pip install khoj then khoj) or Docker Compose; the web app listens on :42110, with Obsidian/Emacs plugins and a WhatsApp bridge as clients. Use local models via Ollama for a fully offline second brain, or plug in a cloud key for stronger reasoning — either way the index of your private notes stays on your hardware.
