Lightweight local AWS emulator — native binary, 24ms startup, no account · API Testing & Synthetic Monitoring
Floci is a free, MIT-licensed local AWS emulator and the lightweight LocalStack alternative: compiled to a native binary (Quarkus/GraalVM) it starts in ~24ms and idles at ~13 MiB, emulating 75 AWS services — S3, Lambda, DynamoDB, RDS, ECS, EKS, Athena, OpenSearch, MSK and more — on the same standard :4566 endpoint, with no account or auth token ever. Install the CLI with Homebrew (brew install floci-io/floci/floci; then floci start and eval $(floci env) to point your shell's AWS SDKs at it), or run the Docker image (floci/floci, mounting the Docker socket so Lambda/RDS/ECS can orchestrate real containers). Its speed makes it a natural fit for CI test suites. Note both emulators default to :4566 — run one at a time.
