Pancake has its own Help, in English, Japanese and Korean: choose Help ▸ Pancake Help (⌘?) and search for what you need. The Assistant can also answer questions about your sites and read their logs.
Common questions
My site doesn't open
Click Start All (the play button at the top right). If the status says "Needs attention", open Logs on the site's card. Sites open at http://name.localhost; if another web server on your Mac already uses port 80, Pancake picks the next free port by itself and shows it in the address.
How do I bring in my MAMP, XAMPP or Apple Server sites?
Click New Site, open Bring in a site and choose where they are. Pancake copies the sites and their databases; it never changes the original set-up.
A phone on my network can't open the site
Turn on Online ▸ On my network, set the phone's DNS server to the address it shows, and use the QR code on the site's card.
Where are my sites and databases?
In Pancake's own folder on your Mac (Settings ▸ Advanced ▸ Show data folder), or in a folder you chose. Backups ▸ Back Up Now saves a copy; Pancake Cloud can keep an encrypted copy on your own server, an S3 bucket or iCloud Drive.
Subscriptions
Settings ▸ Subscription shows your plan. To restore a purchase on another Mac, choose Restore Purchases; to change or cancel, choose Manage in App Store. If a subscription ends, nothing is deleted: the servers stop until you renew, and you can still export your sites and databases.
Removing Pancake completely
Settings ▸ Advanced ▸ Remove All Pancake Data… deletes Pancake's data, Keychain items and its local certificate authority. Site folders go to the Trash, so you can still get them back.
Requirements
macOS 14 or later, on Apple silicon or Intel. The Assistant on Apple Intelligence needs a Mac with Apple Intelligence turned on; elsewhere it can use an AI provider with your own key.
