KeyRotate terms of use

These terms are an agreement between you and Enfour, Inc. ("Enfour", "we") covering your use of KeyRotate for macOS. By using KeyRotate you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the app. These terms cover KeyRotate only; other Enfour products have their own. The same text is included in the app, under Settings.

1. What KeyRotate is

KeyRotate stores API keys and records of AI subscriptions, replaces keys at vendors that support it, and updates the files and applications you tell it those keys are used in. It runs on your Mac. There is no KeyRotate account, no KeyRotate server, and nothing you store is sent to us.

2. Your keys stay yours

Secret values are stored as macOS Keychain items belonging to this app, protected by your Mac's login and, where you enable it, Touch ID. We cannot read them. If you turn on iCloud Keychain syncing, Apple syncs those items between your own devices under Apple's terms; that is between you and Apple.

If your subscription lapses, every key you have already stored stays visible, copyable and exportable. Rotation, file updates and account switching pause. We will not withhold your own credentials from you.

3. What you are responsible for

KeyRotate changes files you nominate, including configuration on servers you connect it to, and it asks vendors to issue and sometimes to revoke credentials. Those actions can interrupt services that depend on them. You are responsible for choosing the right files and servers, for having backups, for reviewing what KeyRotate reports before you confirm a change, and for complying with the terms of every vendor whose credentials you manage.

KeyRotate deliberately does not revoke a superseded key for you. Revoking is yours to do, once you are satisfied nothing still uses the old value.

4. Vendors and third parties

KeyRotate talks to vendor APIs — to check a key, read an expiry or usage figure, or mint a replacement — using credentials you supply. It does so only for the vendors whose keys you have asked it to manage. We do not control those vendors, their availability, their pricing, their rate limits or their decisions about your account. Your relationship with each vendor is governed by that vendor's own terms.

Automated features that send a request on your behalf, such as starting a plan's next usage window, are yours to enable and yours to keep within the vendor's terms. Check that a vendor permits automated requests before turning such a feature on.

5. No warranty

KeyRotate is provided as is, without warranty of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. We do not warrant that rotation will always succeed, that a vendor's API will behave as documented, that a reading is current, or that the app is free of defects.

6. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Enfour is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, for lost profits, or for lost or corrupted data. Our total liability for any claim relating to KeyRotate is limited to the amount you paid for it in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and you may have rights under consumer law that these terms do not affect.

7. Subscription

KeyRotate is sold as an auto-renewing monthly subscription through the App Store. The price and billing period are shown in the app before you buy, in your own currency.

Payment is charged to your Apple Account on confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically, and your Apple Account is charged for the next period, unless you turn off automatic renewal at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Renewal is charged within 24 hours before the period ends, at the price then in effect for your plan.

You can manage the subscription and turn off automatic renewal at any time in your Apple Account settings, on the Mac under System Settings, or at apple.com/account. Cancelling stops the next renewal; it does not end the period you have already paid for, and the app keeps working until that period ends.

If a free trial is offered and you take it, any unused part of it is forfeited when you buy a subscription to KeyRotate. Where a trial is offered, its length and what happens at the end are shown before you start it.

Payment, renewal, cancellation and refunds are handled by Apple under the terms shown at purchase and in your Apple Account settings. We do not process your payment and do not see your payment details. Refund requests go to Apple, not to us.

If the subscription lapses, every key you have already stored stays visible, copyable and exportable; only rotation, file updates and account switching pause.

8. Changes and ending

We may update KeyRotate and these terms. Material changes will be shown in the app. If you stop agreeing, stop using the app and cancel the subscription; your stored keys remain readable and exportable.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Japan, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Mandatory consumer protections in your own country of residence still apply.
